In order to assist you in creating an effective SEO optimized page, I have created a checklist that offers some workable strategies in building an SEO optimized page. Let’s discuss them.
Deploy SEO-Friendly Domain and URL Extension
Using keywords in domains and URL extensions is still a workable SEO strategy. For instance, check our domain. We are “SEO Service Provider” company and we picked “SEO-Service-Provider.Org” domain intentionally! It’s not exact (seoserviceprovider) nor irrelevant with our niche. Many SEO experts question us through social media why double hyphen in the domain? It would be difficult for us to rank any keyword(s). But we prove them wrong, if you search with “SEO Service Provider” in Google.com then you will see our site at number 2 position (as on 12-12-2014). In our opinion, we are not using too many hyphens (but only two) or keywords like Effective-SEO-Ranking-Strategy-2015 or how-to-get-rich-quickly.com so why Google will not rank us?
Now let me come to the URL extension. Please check this post URL: http://www.seo-service-provider.org/how-to-create-an-seo-optimized-page
Don’t you think it’s a good tactic? We have used post title in URL extension to give an idea to both our visitors and Google what’s this page about.
Create an Optimized Title for Your Content
Besides your webpage’s content, the second most imperative part of webpage’s content is your title tag. As it proves to be a strong on-page optimization signal. To have better performance, start your title tag with keyword rather than using keyword at the end of title tag.
Alongside, keep your webpage’s title tag under/within 55 characters as Google displays almost 50-60 characters of title. For example, for this post we have only 35 characters title: “How to Create an SEO Optimized Page”
Use Visual Media
Visual media optimization plays an important role in getting Google attention. For instance, on-page visual media (image or video) sends relevancy signals through its alt text, description, caption, title, and file name. Overall, visual media optimization helps to increase on-site time and in turn, decrease bounce rate.
Create Outbound Links
There are many SEO novice think that outbound links are bad for SEO. I don’t understand them! Don’t they know about nofollow tag or they don’t know how to use them? Just leave the concept of nofollow tag, what’s wrong if I put dofollow outbound link(s) where it seems necessary? What will happen as long as I am not trying to manipulate my contents with irrelevant and spammy links? Will Google penalize my website for having high authority outbound dofollow reference links in my content(s)? Well my answer is “NEVER“. Google can gain relevancy signal about your website’s pages if you put valuable reference links. Additionally, it can easily figure out what’s your page about.
Despite the fact that outbound links help, one thing I need to mention – Do not use too many links as it can distract the user from the main content.
Use relevant keywords in the introduction part of your web page
Using keywords in the first 100-150 words of the webpage proves to be an essential strategy to create an SEO optimized page. But make sure to use highly relevant keywords.
Optimize Your Web Page for Social Sharing
Adding social buttons (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Tumblr, etc.) will help your website’s page to receive inbound links (People will share your content and their friends, followers might follow your content. Some of them might link/distribute your content through their blogs, websites or forums). Links are a great source of increasing website ranking.
Improve Webpage Loading Speed
Page Loading Speed is an important SEO strategy. For instance, people do not like to visit websites and webpages that take more than four seconds to open. Alternatively, by improving your website’s loading speed below four seconds, you can increase re-visit time of your website.
I hope that you will find these techniques helpful in creating a highly SEO optimized page. These are the very basic techniques I cover. But there are many techniques that aren’t covered by this post. So please share any other technique that you are using for your website and are not mentioned here.
